Smart music baseline: 57% 9/11 Concert Reflection I think that this year's 9/11 concert was %100 better than last years. I believe that the main contributing factor was that we were set up and not thrown into a corner, we were more prepared and more comfortable with the music. This year’s concert was more organized and I loved how we performed with the choir. I am very proud of not just my section but our whole band as a whole. -Smart Music Scales.- I did very good with my scales I got 95% on one of them I think it was C major to ab minor, but 100% on all the others. I feel confident on my ability to play them, but I have to have the piano where I can see it, other wise I can't remember them. I'm working on memorizing them. I know the musical alphabet but for some reason I can't play and remember them so I guess I will just memorize them. :) Pep Band Reflection: I performed at every pep band game volunteer and required, mainly because I love playing in the pep band and I get into the games free ;) I believe that the pep band is very important element of our band, by us playing at the game's not only do we provide the basket ball players with music, we also get more attention from the community and the staff. I have heard at least 4 times that the boys really like the fact that we play pep band at their games. Steve McGrath was disappointed when I told him that we weren't gonna play at the game this past Friday. I also know that several people who would have never come to one of our concerts can see us play and perform at the games. my top three pep band songs are, livin on a prayer, Land of 1000 Dances, and Wipe Out. I love "Livin" because the trombones have an awesome solo and it's extremely fun to play. Land of 1000 is amazing because of the fast pace and the really cool part that the trombones play several times. I love playing wipe out because there is so much going on all at once and if one person just plays their part it sounds really weird but you put it all together and it sounds awesome! Now my three least favorite songs are number 20 I Get Around, rubber ducky, and frozen. I hate I Get Around because I have never been able to play it correctly and that bothers me... a lot. I dislike Rubber Ducky because it's really low and extremely boring! last Frozen, I don't like this song because I don't like any of the music in that movie it's catchy but I don't know it's not entertaining. Wipeout measure 27? I think it is, when the trombones play the melody line, before this year I didn't know any of that but this year I have finally learned how to play it correctly. If I could add any song it would be "Carry On" by Kansas, or any AC DC song :D. |
